Dr. Elliot L. Chaikof, M.D., Ph.D., is a distinguished surgeon and biomedical engineer, currently serving as Chair of the Department of Surgery and Surgeon-in-Chief at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), and as the Johnson and Johnson Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School . He is also a member of the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering, the Harvard Stem Cell Institute, and holds a faculty appointment at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology .
