$300m deal aims to scale up production of promising regenerative cells

Celularity will manufacture MuseCells and related therapies in New Jersey

07-Sep-2026

Key points from article :

Regenerative medicine company Celularity has entered a manufacturing collaboration with Singapore-based MuseCell Innovations to produce Dezawa MuseCells in the United States. The cells, discovered by Professor Mari Dezawa, are a naturally occurring population of stress-resistant cells being investigated for their potential in regenerative medicine. The initial programme will also cover two related products, Dezawa MuseExosomes and Dezawa MuseSecretome.

Production will take place at Celularity's 147,215-square-foot facility in Florham Park, New Jersey, which already has infrastructure for manufacturing cellular therapies. The companies say the initial project is intended to establish US manufacturing capability before potentially expanding the partnership to additional products and programmes.

If that broader collaboration goes ahead, MuseCell Innovations projects that it could generate more than $300 million in aggregate purchases from Celularity over five years and create more than 200 specialised jobs at the New Jersey site. Importantly, the $300 million figure is a projection based on potential future programmes, rather than committed revenue from the initial agreement.

Muse cells remain an investigational technology rather than an approved therapy, so the manufacturing agreement does not itself demonstrate that the cells are effective treatments. However, establishing a reproducible, quality-controlled manufacturing process could provide an important foundation for further research and clinical development of these cell-based therapies.
